St Ayles Rowing Club

 

 

 

St Ayles Rowing Club are part of the Fisheries Museum and operate out of the Museum's premises. 

The Club usually organises a rowing regatta at the Festival, some years these are between local rowing clubs, last year it was between competing teams from local businesses

In 2017 however St Ayles are in Holland taking part in an international rowing regatta.

 

Skiff "Chris o' Kanaird" was the prototype St Ayles skiff to be built for Anstruther's Scottish Fisheries Museum in 2009 and was the first boat in the Scottish Coastal Rowing Project.  There are now about 50 St Ayles skiffs in Scotland and these skiffs have spread to USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, the Netherlands and England
